Historical Preservation Policy Update

Earlier this year the Historical Preservation Committee (HPC) submitted a number of recommendations for policy changes to the HP Ordinance for review and approval. The Planning & Zoning Commission who is responsible for all land use regulations dedicated a number of work sessions to review the suggestions of the HPC and made significant adjustments to the draft. There were several changes to the document’s wording, including the voluntary inclusion of a historic property, the approval time for a demolition permit and other changes that brought the HPC’s suggestions in line with the land use rules.
