CMDC Joins Coalition to Address Stormwater Issues

CMDC joined The Columbia Chamber of Commerce, Columbia Board of REALTORS®, Columbia Home Builders Association and The District to address a number of concerns with the city’s stormwater ordinance. This initiative, led by the Chamber of Commerce and former Chair Paul Land, evolved due to concerns with the implementation of 20 specific recommendations by the city’s Stormwater Task Force to modify the existing ordinance. The current ordinance had been under review for more than a year and a half by the city council’s appointed task force. The coalition became very frustrated by the lack of progress being made by the staff and approached Mayor Bob McDavid and City Manager Mike Matthes with a request for a work session to discuss the recommendations made by the city’s task force and the lack of response to those recommendations.  [click here to read more]
