The Central Missouri Development Council and the Columbia Chamber of Commerce urge you to support legislation , which could help create jobs in Columbia.
Lobbying efforts at the Missouri Capital have recently overturned a vote in the Senate Ways and Means Committee that would have killed legislation that will help create jobs in Columbia and around the state. After a vote by the committee to reconsider the bill, House Bill 2328 has been revived and now needs your help to make it onto the Senate calendar.
House Bill 2328 is a bill that establishes a Regional Economic Development initiative to encourage an individual or business to invest in organizations. A copy of the bill text for this bill can be found at www.house.mo.gov.
We urge you to contact our state senator, Chuck Graham as well as Senator Mike Gibbons who serves at the President Pro Tem and Senator Charlie Shields who is the Majority Floor Leader and encourage them to place this bill on the Senate's calendar in order for it to be debated on the Senate Floor before the end of the legislative session on Friday, May 16th.
